Megan Mahnke
Graduate Counseling Intern
Hello, and welcome. I am a graduate-level counseling student beginning my internship with The Hive Collective this spring. I feel honored to be part of a practice that values authenticity, compassion, and meaningful connection.
I work with adolescents through adults navigating ADHD, autism, trauma, and disability-related experiences. I am especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals in understanding their strengths, developing practical tools, and building lives that feel aligned and fulfilling. I also have a strong interest in disability counseling and affirming care that recognizes both the challenges and resilience within each person’s lived experience.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. I value the structure and skill-building aspects of CBT, helping clients identify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to distress. At the same time, I ground my work in a person-centered foundation, prioritizing empathy, collaboration, and unconditional positive regard. I believe therapy works best when clients feel truly heard, respected, and empowered in the process.
It is a privilege to join you in understanding what matters most in your life, examining patterns that may feel stuck or overwhelming, and nurturing your strengths as you move toward meaningful change. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, strengthen coping strategies, and move toward growth with confidence and clarity. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey.
Megan
